How to Volunteer

Friends of the Creeks appreciates the assistance of any and all who want to help clean up or enhance our creeks.

Volunteer work days are generally scheduled between March and October except for the butterfly habitat in Civic Park East, which is year round.  Activities usually last 2-3 hours.

Please contact us through the website to volunteer or to arrange a work day for a group.

We can schedule groups up to 30 or so, depending on the activity and location.  If you are an individual volunteer, we can let you know when the next activity will occur.

Ways you can help:

• Arundo removal (minimum age 15) – ongoing
• Exotic vegetation removal and weeding – ongoing
• Trash removal – Annual Creek Cleanup (May)
• Bioassessment – April-May; must be 18 or over
• Advocacy for creek preservation and/or restoration at public meetings – as necessary, usually evenings

In addition, we would like to do GPS mapping if you have a group willing to make a commitment to several volunteer days over the course of a summer.
